Aloe Vera Mist: fill 1/3 of a small bottle with aloe vera gel.  Fill the rest of the bottle with warm water.  Shake vigorously to blend and then before each use.  Then mist hair and comb through to evenly distribute, scrunch and let air dry.

Apple Cider Face Scrub:  malic acid “deeply penetrates the skin, refining its texture and and diminishing dicoloration from acne scars or sun damage, leaving your complexion bright, and even glowing!” says Melendres.  For your own scrub: 1 tbs baking soda, 1/2 tsp apple cider, biw both ingredients until the form a paste.  Massage gently over clean damp skin in circular motion.  Rinse and pat dry.

Jazzing up any gravy:

Citrus and herbs – add 1 tsp each grated lemon zest, minced fresh rosemary and minced fresh thyme; heat for one minute.

Port Wine – Simmer 1/2 cup of port wine 1 min to reduce.  Stir into hot gravy,

Brandied cream – simmer 1/4 cup of brandy 1 min to reduce.  Add gravy and 1/4 cup heavy cream; cook until slightly thickened.

Substitute – strongly brewed black tea for beef broth when making gravies, or use brewed tea to deglaze the pan when making skillet sauces.

Quick Ideas for salad:

Slice a tomato, put it in a bowl and garnish with garlic and drizzle with olive oil.  You can add onions, and change-up your spice, such as parsley, oregano or anything you like.

Canned green beans, always like french-cut, drain in put in a bowl and season and drizzle with garlic oil.
