English Lavender Bath

This bath recipe contains lavender as a relaxant, and well as oatmeal and making soda, which are soothing to dry, sensitive kin.  With it healing properties, this an ideal bath for calming a bad sunburn or insect bites.

1 cup dried lavender – any kind you prefer

2 cups of oatmeal

1/2 cup baking soda

Place ingredients in a food processor or blender.  Grind  until you have a smooth, fine powder.  The powder should have a feel of whole grain flour when done.  Pour into container.

To use: pour 1/2 cup into your bath.

Lavender Mineral Bath Salts

The fresh clean scent adds to the bath experience by refreshing the mind and body.

1 cup sea salt

1 cup Epsom salt

1/2 cup baking soda

1/4 cup dried lavender flowers

5-6 drops lavender essential oil

Mix ingredients and stir well.  Spoon into a clean container with a tight-fitting lid.

To use: add 1/2 cup to 1 cup to your bath.

Sweet Dream Spray

The scent of lavender can help prepare you for a restful nights sleep and list your mood if you are feeling low.   Use this simple spray after bathing to keep your body relaxed. You can spray some on your pillow at night for sweet dreams or over your body.

1/2 cup distilled water

1 teaspoon witch hazel

5-6 drops lavender essential oil

Mix ingredients and pour into a spray bottle.

To use: spray onto clean skin or fresh linens before going to sleep.

Lavender Bubble Bath

4 cups water

4 oz castile soap

3 oz liquid glycerine

4 drops lavender essential oil (or substitute your choice)

Mix water, castile soap and liquid glycerin; stir or shake well until combined.  Add lavender oil or your choice of essential oil.  When using, slowly pour bath mixture into the running water until you reach teh desired amount of bubbles for your soak.
