Fresh Lime Water – great anytime of the year!
7 1/2 cups of water
6 tbsp of sugar
10 limes, plus slices to decorate
Pour the water into a large pitcher, add the sugar and stir until all the sugar is dissolved. Chill for at least one hour. Using a zester or grater, remove the zest from the limes, taking care to take only the colored zest, not the pith (the white stuff). Squeeze the juice from the limes and add this to the chilled sugar water, with the lime rind. Stir well and chill again until needed. Serve in tall glasses garnished with lime slices.
You can also do this with lemons.
